Three music lovers came together during lockdown, began jamming, and quickly became friends. The following summer, during a 2023 vacation in Denmark, they developed an alias for their sound: CRISTEL SELLLIAH. Inspired by neo-soul, funk, and jazz, as well as past and present hip-hop artists, CRISTEL SELLLIAH blends genres while letting hints of influences like Jamiroquai, Little Simz, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Anderson.Paak shine through. The band writes with hope and sentimentality, reflecting on everyday challenges, asking questions, and seeking answers. Accompanied by a rich harmonic tapestry, underpinned by groovy rhythms and breaks, their music feels - intimate and soulful. Since their live debut at the Hamburg Sternstundenfestival in summer 2024, the three-piece lineup of Finn Winter (drums), Ann Storfinger (vocals), and Gabriel Kobulashvili (keys) has been performing regularly as CRISTEL SELLLIAH [ˈkɹɪstəl ˈsɛl.li.a], often inviting a variety of guest musicians (trumpet, bass, saxophone, backing vocals) to join their gigs. The newcomers released their debut album “ABOUT TIME” January 2026, initially on Bandcamp and later on streaming platforms - except Spotify - as a conscious political statement. Because in its core CRISTEL SELLLIAH stands for analog, tangible music, DIY, and community.
