Fierce is the force of BNYI’s pounding percussion, as they fill the space with energy drawn from sounds rooted in ancestral cultures. Their Caribbean heritage from Venezuela, combined with a continually evolving interest in musical interpretations from global majority cultures, gives rise to experiences that transcend genre limitations and push dancefloors into a fusion of dusky energy and body-shaking rhythms—irresistible to move to. As a co-founder of the platform Áspora, BNYI has taken part in initiatives that seek to center migrant communities and artists, showcase local and global majority talents, and challenge (neo)colonial and capitalist structures within the music scene—all while offering alternative perspectives and sounds. BNYI has made appearances as a DJ across various underground spaces in Leipzig, as well as in renowned alternative music spaces such as Panke (Berlin) and Kultur im Bunker (Bremen). As a producer, their work has reached international shores, with contributions to labels including Algol (Brazil), Maluko (Venezuela), The Raptor Records (Venezuela), as well as Nofuture (Spain), Cuntry Club (France), and Minuit Rapide (France).
