LASIMAALAUS

Lasimaalaus is a dream pop duo based in Vienna, formed by two friends with a shared interest in introspective poetry and music. Inspired by the collection of poems Lasimaalaus (“glass painting”) by Aila Meriluoto (1924-2019), their songs capture melancholic immersion and homesickness, but also serene joy and quiet optimism. Most of the lyrics are based on poems written in Finnish more or less a century ago. The music is created by layering electric guitars and vocals with influences ranging from dreampop to shoegaze, post-rock, trip-hop and new wave.
